An Update (of sorts)

I know I already updated once this week, but let me give a lil follow up to address the following questions. Ain't no rule about updating twice in a week.

1. What was the most difficult part of your production process this week? You cannot say “nothing”. If you feel it’s been an exceptionally easy week, dig deeper and think about one thing you could improve upon.

Most difficult part of my production process this week was working on the run cycle I did (see below) and coming up with more general 'look' development that will be posted soon. I am shifting the color pallet from brown and red/orange to Purple and Green - akin to "Friends on the Other Side" from The Princess and the Frog.

REFERENCE 2

2. What was the most interesting, fun or successful part of your production process this week? Did you stumble upon a time saving technique? Did you finally master that walk cycle? Did you accomplish something you are especially pleased with?

I am rather proud of the run cycle I did this week (see below again), though I was given some good notes on how to improve it. And I am proud of my character redesigns that I've been working on. I also modeled the Car in Maya, and toon shaded it which looks pretty darn 'the part' as well. I'll post up some pic-a-tures soon.

Anyways... that is all. At ease readers.

The best part of waking up is Nick Frost in your cup! :D

A Challenger Approaches!!

Ladies and Gentlemen!

Here is the new character. THE PANTHER.

He's a tough type, knows his stuff and is past his prime. (Essentially that kid moose character but all grown up now and not a moose anymore at all).

Here is some test animation of him running. I like how it came out, though I'll obviously have to work on my consistencies a bit. Timing wise, thus far I can dig it.

(You may have to click on it to play it, if not save the image and open it in a new window in your web browser.)

Surely more tomorrow. Till then.

Working Working Working.

New work space. USC SCB Cubicle. Lovely. Feel like its my own studio.

Eric Stirpe in fact has taken to calling it the studio.

I shall do that too.

I am in the studio.

Writing and doing character designs as we speak.

I even have a lil mirror so I can look at my own expressions and replicate them... much like a young an alive Ward Kimball.

Soon there will be visual updates. Hopefully later today.

No. No hopefullys.

Later today.

An Obnoxious Update.

A SLIGHT DELAY.

My computer was crashed and my hard drive was lost. THANK GOD I POST ALL THE WORK ON THIS BLOG.

But, The backgrounds now need to be re-formatted into PSDs with layers and I need to install drivers to get the cintiq working again.

BUT THANKS TO THIS BLOG I DON'T HAVE TO START ALL OVER.

However - I do need to learn to do backups more frequently.

The Bar (Rough Above Layout)

Hey All,

So Today I realized everything just had too much of a 'square look' so I spent a few hours re-designing the bar, so that It would be more interesting and organic to look at. Obviously, this is not a real background to be used, and when it is done for real, there will be patrons and items filling it up as well. It will probably be a little longer too to allow the dragon to enter. But as to a look right now, this is kind of the idea.

Yes, in the right is a Pig on a spit.

ORDER UP!

More of the Lab

Here's one I've been working on for a few days now....

(Probably will get a few more touch-ups in "post")
